Pam Harder Appointed as Inaugural Executive Director of the Goodman Family Foundation

New Leadership to Strengthen the Foundation’s Commitment to Advancing U.S. Economic Mobility

Washington, D.C. — The Goodman Family Foundation is pleased to announce that Pam Harder will serve as its inaugural Executive Director, leading the family’s efforts to restore and enhance economic mobility across the United States.

“We are beyond thrilled that Pam is stepping into this important role to shape
the direction of our philanthropic work,” said Meg and Bennett Goodman. “Our whole family is energized by our focus on enhancing U.S. economic mobility, which we continue to see as the biggest challenge facing America today.”

To date, the Goodman Family Foundation has awarded over $60 million in grants, supporting initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for individuals and families. With Pam Harder’s leadership, the Foundation is poised to expand its impact even further. The Goodmans place to scale up their giving to meet the needs of the economic mobility challenges in the United States.

“The level of strategic rigor, insight generation, and thought partnership Pam has already brought to our Foundation is incredible,” said Jared Goodman, son of Meg and Bennett. Jared, alongside his siblings Alex and Julia, has played an integral role in the Foundation’s work to date.

In her new role, Pam will oversee the Foundation’s overall strategy, lead its national efforts on U.S. economic mobility, cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with other funders, and identify the most high-impact philanthropic opportunities for the Goodmans.

“I am thrilled to be taking on this leadership role at such a pivotal moment,” said Harder. “The Goodman family has made an impressive commitment to doubling down on their philanthropic efforts at a time when U.S. economic mobility is seeing the sharpest decline in generations. We have a lot of work to do.”

Pam has dedicated her entire career to creating pathways for economic opportunity for individuals and families across the U.S. Prior to joining the Goodman Family Foundation, she led go-to-market sales strategy at Guild Education, an upskilling and career mobility platform for adult learners. She also served in Virginia state government, designing and scaling workforce and education initiatives that created career pathways for individuals of all socioeconomic backgrounds. She also worked as a management consultant at FSG advising major national philanthropies on their strategies.

Harder holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University, a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School. She, along with her husband Josh and two daughters, splits her time between Washington, D.C., and Tracy, California.
